George Ringer

George Mullin Ringer, 73, of near Camden died at 8:05 pm Thursday February 12, 2015 in the IU Arnett Hospital at Lafayette of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born January 7,1942 in Logansport, the son of the late Raymond G. Ringer and Opal M. Mullin Ringer. He graduated from Camden High School in 1960 and attended Butler University and graduated from Ball State in 1965, with a BS degree in education. He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Johnson on March 21,1964, she survives. He farmed for over 60 years, retiring because of ill health. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church at Camden, and taught school for 10 years. He served on the Delphi Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees from 1976 to 1992. He was especially proud of his Carroll County Agricultural Hall of Fame award, which he received in 2003. He was active in his community serving on several boards and committees. One of his main projects was to establish and maintain good drainage for his and surrounding farms. He was the 5th generation to farm in Carroll County on both sides of his parents families. The world was a better place when he was in it. Surviving with his wife are a son David (wife Lisa) Ringer of near Camden, one daughter Debbie (husband Mark) McFatridge of Springfield, MO. 4 grandchildren Alex, A.J., Ryan and Emily and one great-granddaughter Camden. He loved all animals and especially his three dogs, Mutt, Bob and Spot. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday at Cree Funeral Home, Camden, with Pastor Scott Vana officiating, burial will follow in the Camden Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7pm Sunday at the funeral home.
