David L. White, 61, formerly of Delphi, died at 12:03 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Heritage Healthcare Center in West Lafayette.  A resident there since 2003, he had been in ill health the last few months.
  Born July 31, 1947, in Lafayette, he was the son of Phillip White and Eleanor Allen White Doerr.
  Mr. White was a 1966 graduate of Delphi High School.  He attended Purdue University and an electronics school in Indianapolis.
  He worked as a cook at various area restaurants and for an electrician in Delphi.
  Mr. White loved his Lord and was baptized at the Delphi Christian Church.
  He played football for the Logansport Lancers.  He enjoyed drawing, fishing, outdoor activities, auto mechanics, and playing pool.
  Surviving are a son, Erik Bradley White of Indiana; his mother; two brothers, Allen White (wife: Charlotte) of Delphi and Robert Doerr, Jr. (wife: Lesley) of Lafayette; a sister, Elizabeth McTigue (husband: Neil) of Delphi; and several nieces and nephews.
  Preceding him in death were his father, a sister, Teresa, and his step-father, Robert Doerr, Sr.
  Services were held Sunday at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi, Pastor Aaron Green officiated.  Burial followed at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg.
