Ruth Ann Oaks Pearson, 93, of Delphi, IN, passed peacefully into heaven on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi, IN.

She was born on May 15, 1930, to the late Horace and Elnora Ward Oaks in Cutler, IN. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Carroll County. She was in housekeeping at the former Brethren Home in Flora and kept the books for the farm trucking business. Ruth was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her family was the most important part of her life. Ruth Ann Oaks married the love of her life, Leroy J. Pearson, on June 1, 1947, in Delphi, IN and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2018, being married for 71 years.

Ruth was a member of the Radnor United Methodist Church since May 9, 1943. She enjoyed gardening, baking pies and baking cookies with the grandkids.

Surviving are two daughters; one son; one sister; one brother-in-law; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents; husband; sister, Mary Ellen Shaffer; and three brothers - Roy Oak, Floyd Oaks and Larry Oaks.

Ruth's family invite friends to visit on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A celebration of Ruth's life will start at 12:00 PM at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 S. Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Rev Ed Selvidge will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, next to her husband.
