Jason Stewart

Jason T. "Jake" Stewart, 69, rural Burrows, died Aug. 5, 1999, in his residence.

Born Aug. 4, 1930, in Burrows, he was the son of Frederick and Margaret Groninger Stewart.  His marriage was Dec. 1, 1956, to Catherine Graf, who survives.

A 1948 graduate of Delphi High School, he attended Burrows grade school.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving four years in Korea, and a member of American Legion Post 60 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790.

Mr. Stewart was a diesel electrician on the Pennsylvania, Penn-Central and Conrail railroads, retiring in 1990.  He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and attended All Saints Catholic Church, Logansport.

His hobbies included gardening, hunting muchrooms, and fixing "unfixable" things.

Also surviving are a daughter, Marla Young of Logansport, two sons, Mark Stewart of Camden, and Fred Stewart of Burrows; a sister, Susie Stewart of Delphi; and six grandchildren.

Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Services were Monday in All Saints Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Logansport.  Memorials may be made to the church or All Saints Catholic School.
