Mary C. Benjamin - Class Of 1929

 Mary C. Benjamin, 85, formerly of Delphi, died at 9:44 p.m. April 15, 1995, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, where she was admitted April 14.
  Born Feb. 24, 1910, in Lebanon, S.D., she was the daughter of Edward E. and Nellie Childers Benjamin.  She had lived in Tippecanoe Township, Carroll County, most of her life, moving to Delphi in 1980.
  She was a 1929 graduate of Delphi High School.  She formerly owned and operated the family farm at Rt. 1, Battle Ground.
  She also had worked as a sorter for Pioneer Seed Corn Co. in Flora.
  Miss Benjamin was a 67-year member of the Delphi United Methodist Church and a 60-year member of the Deer Creek Township Home Ec. Club.
  She was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge, having served as noble grand of Adina Lodge in Delphi six times, and as recording secretary for 31 years.
  She was a former member of the Past Noble Grand Club, and in 1955 received the Rebekah Lodge Decoration of Chivalry.  She currently was a member of Home Rebekah Lodge at Battle Ground.
  Miss Benjamin was a member of the Carroll County Historical Society, Tippecanoe Camera Club at Monticello and the Gad-About Travel Group in Lafayette.  She had traveled in 49 states, Mexico, and Canada.
  Surviving is a sister, Ruth L. Neumann of Lafayette.  She was preceded in death by one brother.
  Services were Tuesday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Ellcessor officiating.  Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the Delphi United Methodist Church or donor's favorite charity.
