Robert Clawson - Class Of 1929

 Robert Lee Clawson, 89, of Delphi, died at 1:30 p.m. April 27, 2000, in the Brethren Healthcare Center of Flora.
  Born March 2, 1911, in Delphi, he was the son of Harry and Flossie Hornbeck Clawson.  He was a 1929 graduate of Delphi High School.
  He married Ruth Lorene Clawson on Dec. 24, 1931, in Carroll County, and she survives.
  Before retirement, he was manager of the Carroll County REMC for 16 years, where he also had been a lineman.
  Mr. Clawson was a 50-year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Delphi, where he was a deacon for three years, an elder for six years, and a member of the building committee.  He was a past president of the Delphi Lions Club, REMC Manager's Association, and United Fund of Delphi.  He also was a member of Carroll County Development, Carroll County Mental Health Association, Delphi Chamber of Commerce, and Mount Olive Masonic Lodge 48.
  Also surviving are one son, Jerry Clawson of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Nancy Gregory of Woodlawn, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
  Services were Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi, with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating.  Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
