 Funeral services for Mrs. Kathalene, 59, of Burrows who was fatality injured in a three-car crash at U.S. 52 By-pass and Indiana 25 at Lafayette, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Burrows Presbyterian Church where she was a member and organist for several years.  The Rev. David Bicket officiated and interment will be in Brown Church Cemetery west of Burrows. 
  Friends may call at Jackson Funeral Home in Delphi.  The body will lie in state at the church for an hour prior to the services.
  Mrs. Groninger was a passenger in a car driven by Sandra Simons, 20, of Burrows, in the accident at 5:15 p.m. Monday.
  The Simons eastbound car waited for oncoming traffic to clear then started to turn left after the 52 portion of the traffic signal had turned red, officers reported.
  A car westbound on 52, driven by Mrs. Susanne T. Hilligoss, 35, of Indianapolis; crashed into the right side of the Simons car, state police said.
  The Simons car spun about from the impact and the right rear of the vehicle crashed into the left front of a third car operated by Mrs. Annabel F. Hanna, 41, of Rt. 1, Flora, who was stopped en route southwest on Indiana 25 and waiting for the traffic light.
  Mrs. Groninger was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
  Miss Simons was treated and released from St. Elizabeth Hospital emergency room while Miss Elaine Stewart 19, of Rt. 2, Monticello, another passenger in the Simons car was admitted to St. Elizabeth with multiple lacerations and abrasions.  She was listed in fair condition.  Miss Cheri Johns, 19, of Rt. 1, Delphi a passenger in the rear seat with Mrs. Groninger was treated at the hospital and dismissed.
  Investigating were State Trooper Ted Dudzinski and acting Tippecanoe County Coroner Dr. Grayson B. Davis.
  Mrs. Groninger was born Aug. 11, 1909, at Yeoman, the daughter of Warren and Effie Schock Jacoby.  She was graduated from Delphi High School.  Her marriage , April 24, 1929, was to Charles Groninger.  She was employed in the Aeronautical Astronautical Engineering Sciences Department at Purdue University and was on her way home from work when the accident occurred.
  Prior to her employment at Purdue she had operated Groninger Grocery Store at Burrows for 15 years.
  Surviving with the husband are one son, Dr. Lowell Groninger of Baltimore, Mc.; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Powlen of Burrows and Mrs. Joanne Ratcliff of Delphi;  one brother, Paul Jacoby of Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Marietta Anderson of West Lafayette and Miss Irene Jacoby of Lafayette, and six grandchildren.
