Helen Goslee (Norris)

Mrs. Helen M. Norris, 54, of Yeoman, died Thursday morning at 2:15 in White County Memorial hospital following a brief illness. She had been hospitalized two weeks. A well known resident of the Yeoman community, she had been operator and bookkeeper for the Yeoman Telephone Company for the past 10 years. Interested in community affairs, Mrs. Norris had served as co-chairman of the Jefferson township United Fund drive last month. Born April 11, 1908 in Monticello, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Rosetta Ward Goslee. Her marriage on June 23, 1928 was to Wayne Norris and they had resided in Yeoman since 1931. She was a member of the Yeoman Methodist church. Surviving are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Rider of Cottage Grove, Oregon; Mrs. Joyce Sheets of San Pierre, Indiana; a son, Michael, at home; her father Wilbur Goslee of Yeoman and a sister, Geraldine Goslee of Yeoman. Funeral rites were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Yeoman Methodist church. Rev. J. A. Hornick and Rev. David Strang officiated and burial was in the Yeoman cemetery.
