Walter Conn - Class Of 1926

Funeral services for Walter Robert Conn, 60, of 322 North Indiana Street, one of two Delphi men killed Friday in a two-car accident southeast of Delphi, were at 11 a.m. Monday at Jackson Funeral Home. The Rev. Franklin Arthur officiated, and burial was in the Rossville Cemetery. Services for the other crash victim, Charles Clawson, 63, of Lester’s Hotel and Motel, 114 South Market Street, a passenger in Conn’s car, were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, also at Jackson Funeral Home. The Rev. 0. P. Manker officiated and burial was in Delphi IOOF Cemetery. Police said Conn, the bailiff of Carroll Circuit Court, was enroute east on county road 100 N at 5:30 p.m. when his vehicle was struck at County road 350 W by a northbound auto driven by Mrs. Robert Duff, 26, of route 4, Delphi. Conn, who has been bailiff for 14 years, was a graduate of Delphi High School and Lafayette Business College. Born May 10, 1906, at Delphi, he was the son of Robert M. and Sarah Bowen Conn. Survivors include two brothers, Harry of Rockford, Illinois, and Bowen of Syracuse, Indiana; and four sisters, Mrs. Amy Bormuth of LaPorte, Mrs. Mary Greenwalt of Kokomo, Miss Faith Conn of Aurora, Illinois, and Mrs. Cleo C. Roadruck of Brookston.
