Ruby Thompson (Trent) - Class Of 1926

Mrs. Ruby E. Trent, 77, 627 N. Market Street, Delphi, died at 6:10 PM Tuesday, July 16, 1985, in the home of her daughter, Meon Myers. She had been seriously ill the past three months. Born April 23, 1908 in Camden, the daughter of Verde and Faye Huntsinger Thompson, she was married April 10, 1927 in Peru to James J. Trent who preceded her in death in 1965. A 1926 graduate of Delphi High School, she had lived in Carroll County most of her life. Mrs. Trent was a secretary for Dr. George Wagoner for 17 years. From 1952 to 1958 she was the Deputy Recorder, and was also the Deputy County Clerk for a short time. Mrs. Trent was active in Carroll County Republican politics. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; and was active in the Carroll County Tuberculosis and Bridge Club. Survivors include her children: Mrs. Meon Myers, Delphi; Mr. John A. Trent, Delphi; and Mr. James W. Trent, Oglesby Illinois. She had 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 2 brothers and 1 grandson preceded her in death. Services were held Thursday at 2:0() pm at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery.
