Mildred F. Cree, 89, formerly of Delphi, died at 3:30 p.m. July 23, 1998, at the Brethren Healthcare, Flora. She had been a resident there for five years. Born Nov. 26, 1908, in Delphi, she was the daughter of Joseph A. and Hettie M. Nulf Sneathen. She was educated in the Delphi schools. Mrs. Cree had worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Turtle Creek Nursing Home in Monticello. She also had worked at the American Legion Post in Delphi and had done housekeeping for families in the Delphi community. She was a member of the Delphi American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of the Delphi Art Club. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Cauffield of Chico, Calif.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One son, two sisters and a brother are deceased. Services were Tuesday at Horn Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Glenn officiating. Burial was in Morning Heights Cemetery.
