Mary Heiland (Delaplane)

    Mary Heiland Delaplane, 79, of Boca Raton, Florida, died Jan. 19, 1989, in Boca Memorial Hospital.
     Born in Carroll County on Dec. 12, 1909, she was the daughter of William and Effie Heiland.  She graduated from Delphi High School in 1928.  Her marriage was Feb. 23, 1929, to Robert Reyburn Delaplane of Burlington, who survives.
  She was an active member of Burlington Eastern Star and Worthy Matron in 1941.  After moving to Wayne, Pennsylvania, she and her husband organized the Radnor Chapter of Eastern Star.  In 1968 they retired in Boca Raton.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church there and of Deerfield Country Club.
  Surviving with the husband are two sons, Reyburn of Naperville, Ill., and Ralph of Schaumburg, Ill.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Benner of Delphi; and two brothers, John Heiland of Delphi and Capt. Charles Heiland of Ooltewah, Tenn.  Two infant sons and a sister preceded her in death.
  Memorial and graveside services will be held in the chapel at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport at 2 p.m. Saturday.  Rev. Ellis Gasser will officiate.
