Marion Robbins (Briggs)

Marion Robbins Briggs, 83, of Delphi, died unexpectedly at 1 a.m. Oct. 1, 1994, at her residence.
  Born Oct. 27, 1910, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Fred and Lula Briney Robbins.  She had lived in Delphi since she was three years old.
  Her marriage was on July 18, 1950, in Miami, Fla., to C. Clay Briggs, who died April 13, 1994.
  She was a 1928 graduate of Delphi High School and a 1932 graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington.
  She taught in the Delphi Schools for 15 years, and then was a teacher and librarian at Decatur Central High School, Marion County, until retiring in 1967.  After that, she was an assistant librarian at the Delphi Public Library for several years.
  She was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and Delphi Art Club, and was a former member of the Delphi United Methodist Church.
  Surviving are four nephews and one niece.
  She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
  Services were Tuesday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. James Rankin officiating.  Burial was in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Rt. 1, Delphi.
