Services for Hugh E. Bowman, 69, of Rt. 3, Delphi, were Sunday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Burial was in Ball Hill Cemetery. He died at 6:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 1978, at Home Hospital, Lafayette. Born Nov. 7, 1908, in Tennessee, he was the son of George and Lettie Rogers Bowman. He was married in 1932 to Fern Kelly, who survives. A retired farmer, he was a member of the United Methodist Church. Surviving with the wife are one son, Marvin Bowman of Buck Creek; one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Judy) Brooks of Flora; four sisters, Ethel Clem of Cutler, Pearl Britton of Camden, Florence Goyer of Delphi, and Ora Poole of Dwight, Ill.; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
