Robert Hanna - Class Of 1929

Robert L. Hanna, 50, prominent Delphi attorney, died Monday morning in the Veterans Hospital, Indianapolis.  Mr. Hanna suffered a stroke six weeks ago and since that time had been confined to the hospital.
  Associated with his brother, Ralph, in the law firm of Hanna and Hanna for many years, he was graduated from the Indiana University School of Law.  He was a member of the Carroll County Bar Association, the Elks Lodge, American Legion and the Christian Church.
  Born in Delphi February 19, 1911, his parents were John and Elizabeth Ella Whistler Hanna.  His father was a prominent Delphi attorney.  Robert graduated for Delphi High School and was married Dec. 11, 1935 to Leona Gamble.  In addition to his law business he was formerly associated with the ownership of the Baer Trucking Company and the Industrial Bus Lines.  He served in the Navy during World War II.
  Surviving are his widow; two sons, John, now with the Navy and at home on emergency leave from Spain and Joe, at home; two brothers, Dr. Roger Hanna of East Lansing, Michigan, and Ralph Hanna of Delphi; three aunts, Mrs. Georgia Landis and Miss Pearl Hanna of Delphi and Mrs. Josephine Marley of Detroit.
  Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Eikenberry chapel with Rev. Milton Mikesell officiating.  Burial was in the IOOF cemetery with military graveside rites by the Delphi American Legion.
