Iona Gushwa Metzger, 79, died Feb. 28, 1989, in Lafayette Home Hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1910, in Delphi, but spent most of her life in the Tippecanoe County area. Her marriage was May 30, 1931, in South Bend, to Cleo R. Metzger, who survives. Surviving with the husband are a son, Stanley R. Metzger of Lafayette; two brothers, Floyd Gushwa of Logansport and Henry Gushwa of Lakeland, Fla.; two grandchildren. Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Pyrmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
