Bfc. William (Nick) Wason '32, was killed in action on March 9, on Bougainville island, his wife, Betty, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Wason of Delphi, were notified. In the infantry, Nick was one of a platoon assigned to wipe out a Jap unit, and he was killed when struck by a grenade fragment. Born and reared in Delphi, Wason graduated from the Delphi high school, class of 1927. He attended Wabash college for two years. Nick leaves his wife and baby daughter Joan, 10 months; his parents, two brothers and a sister. Delphi Citizen May 25, 1944
