Everett Williams - Class Of 1929

Everett A. Williams: Retired from Delphi Body Works: Everett A. Williams, 88, of Delphi, died at 3:25 p.m. Nov. 21, 1998, at his residence. Born Aug. 2, 1910, in Delphi, he was the son of Alburtus Everett and Margarette Arion Williams. He married Kathryn I. "Kate" Dawson on May 16, 1936, in Rensselaer, and she survives. Mr. Williams was educated in the Delphi schools and attended a series of supervision and management classes at Purdue University. He worked at Delphi Body Works for 30 years, retiring as plant superintendent in 1967. He also farmed in Carroll County from 1949 until retiring in 1980. He was a member of Delphi First Baptist Church where he was a trustee and one of the church handymen. He also was a member of Carroll County Farm Bureau. Mr. Williams enjoyed antique collecting and woodworking. He had built a clock entirely of wood, including the inner works. Also surviving are one son, John D. Williams of Indianapolis; a daughter, Linda K. "Lin" Morrison of Winamac; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and two half-brothers. Services were Tuesday at Horn Funeral Home with Pastors Jerry Dill and William Glenn officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or St. Elizabeth Hospice.
