Ruel R. Bloyd, 78, of Lafayette, died Nov. 22, 1988 in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. He had been in failing health since early 1987. He was born June 13, 1910 in Burkesville, Ky., and moved to Delphi as a child. His first marriage was to Ruth Feaster and she preceded in death. He married Virginia M. Clawson Shoup in Delphi on Aug. 17, 1969 and she survives. A graduate of Delphi High School, he moved to Tippecanoe County in 1942. He was a machinist at Fairfield for 19-1/2 years, retiring in 1975. Surviving with his wife are a stepdaughter, Vicki Long of Lafayette; and one sister, Mrs. Harold (Hattie) Cochran, also of Lafayette. Two brothers preceded in death. Services were Friday in Lafayette. Burial was in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.
