Clarence Newell Popejoy, 83, Flora, Died at 5 p.m. Oct. 7, 1989, in St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. He was born near Delphi March 1, 1907, to George and Lenora Secrist Popejoy. In August 1930, he was married to Rose Eller, who died in 1946. In 1958, he was married to Lesta Hausenfluck, who survives. Popejoy was a farmer and was retired from Pioneer Hybrid International in 1972. He attended Flora Church of the Brethren. Surviving with the wife are two sons, Edward Popejoy of Cutler and Kenneth Popejoy of Bringhurst; three daughters, Delores Marion of Colburn, Rose Mary Beck of Spangle, Wash., and Carolyn Treadwell of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; 28 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. Services were Tuesday at Reinke Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Keller officiating and Clemet Skiles assisting. Burial was in Musselman Cemetery.
