Mildred R. Grandstaff Kauffman, 94, of Lafayette, died Sept. 21,2001, at the home of her grandson, David, where she resided. Born Aug. 20, 1907, in Carroll County, she graduated from Delphi High School. She married Freeman H. Kauffman on Jan. 12, 1926, in Delphi. He died May 21, 1964. Mrs. Kauffman was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Charles Kauffman of Lafayette and Jack Kauffman of Frankfort; a daughter, Lucille Smith of Lafayette; three half brothers and half sisters; 27 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Services and burial were Sept. 24 in Lafayette.
