Helen Malia (Davis) - Class Of 1921

Mrs. Helen Malia (Hamling) Davis, 61, of Indianapolis, former Delphi resident, died in Methodist hospital Indianapolis on Friday morning. Mrs. Davis had been ill for several months and had entered the hospital on Wednesday. Born in Delphi February 2, 1903, her parents were Thomas and Myrtle Malia. She was a graduate of Delphi high school, and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Tri Kappa sorority. An accomplished pianist, Mrs. Davis often accompanied at local home talent plays in years past. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Jean Strantz of Delphi; Mrs. Joan McClurg of Ft. Wayne and Mrs. Judy Cross of Bluffton; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Malia Flagler of Indianapolis, with whom she made her home; two brothers, Tom Malia of Indianapolis and Mark Malia of Gary. Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral rites were held Monday from Christ the King Catholic church in Indianapolis with burial in an Indianapolis cemetery.
