Meredith Carney (Dial) - Class Of 1922

  The Delphi community was saddened late Wednesday of last week with word of the death of Meredith Carney Dial, member of the prominent local family, was received here.
  Mrs. Dial, ill since last September, passed away at her home at 37 East 86th St., Apt. 212, Indianapolis.  She had been in a coma for several days preceding her death.
  Born at Pyrmont in 1905, she was a daughter of Dr. John and Fannie Robinson Carney.  She was reared in Delphi, was graduated from the Delphi High School and attended Western college and Indiana University.  She was a member of the Rose Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Charles Carroll Chapter D.A.R., and Tri Kappa Sorority here.
  Her marriage was to Thomas Dial, of Indianapolis in 1940.  They resided there since that time.  Mr. and Mrs. Dial had presented many memorial books to the Delphi Library.  She was a descendant of Henry Robinson, Delphi's first settler.
  She leaves the husband of Indianapolis, six aunts; Mrs. Stella Givler, Mrs. Charles Well, Mrs. John McCouch, Mrs. Clarence Cole, Mrs. Paul Ashba, of Delphi, and Mrs. Effie Beale, of Logansport; Miss Ruth Carney of Delphi, and Dr. John Carney, of Monticello, are cousins of the deceased.
  Funeral rites were held at the Delphi Presbyterian church Friday, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. James W. Rankin officiated.  Burial was made in the Masonic cemetery.
  Pallbearers included: Abner H. Bowen, Robert Wood, Ira Fisher, George Obear, Paul Johnson and Myron Johnson.
