Gordon Julien - Class Of 1922

Dr. Gordon Julien, 50, a former resident of Delphi, Ind. and well known here, died Saturday in Pueblo, Colorado, where the family has resided for a number of years. Dr. Julien had not been ill and his death came as a great shock to his countless local friends and relatives. Born in Colorado, March 10, 1902, he was the son of Taylor E. and Lillian Hatfield Julien. While his father served in World War I, the family resided here and Gordon graduated from the local high school and Purdue University. He attended Indiana for 1 year and graduated from the Dental school at Northwestern. His marriage was to Neva Keene of Delphi on August 12, 1928. Dr. Julien was prominent in Masonic circles in Colorado and was a 33rd degree Mason. He had held most of the state offices in the Masonic lodge in Colorado. His father was a 33rd degree Mason in New Mexico and they were one of the very few father-son combinations to be honored with this degree. Surviving are the widow; three children, Gordon, Jr., Mary Elizabeth and Virginia, all at home; his mother. Mrs. Taylor Julien who made her home with Dr. Julien; two brothers, Joseph of New Mexico and Daniel of Los Angeles. A sister, Lucille, died several years ago. The deceased was a nephew of Mrs. James Smock of Delphi. Funeral rites were held Wednesday afternoon in Pueblo and the body was interred temporarily in a mausoleum in Pueblo.
