Mrs Ione (Cripe) Downs, 33, died Tuesday night at St. Elizabeth's hospital, Lafayette, following a two weeks illness with luekemia. Mrs. Downs was born near here and was for several years an employee of the A. T. Bowen bank in Delphi. She and James Downs were married in 1932 in Delphi and since has resided in Chalmers. She was a member ot the Community church in Chalmers and of Kappa Kappa Sigma sorority. Her mother, Mrs. Ida Cripe, died nine months ago. Surviving is the husband, James Cripe of Chalmers; a nine-months old son, William Allen; her father, Dan Cripe, of near Lafayette; one brother, J C. Cripe of near Burrows; a sister, Mrs. Helen Wolfe of Americus. Funeral services will be held from the Community church in Chalmers this afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. B. F. Ricker officiating. Burial will be in the Chalmers cemetery.
