Fred Gerard

The funeral of Fred Gerard, 71, of Rt. 1, Delphi, was Sunday at the Delphi Christian Church. Rev. Oden Memering and Rev. John Hoffman officiated. Burial was in Morning Heights Cemetery east of Delphi. Jackson Funeral Home was in charge. He died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where he had been admitted on Wednesday after suffering an apparent heart attack. Born in Carroll County on Sept. 2, 1902, he was the son of Bernard and Zua Wilkinson Gerard. His marriage on Feb. 2, 1934, was to Mildred Stephens. He was a member and elder of the Delphi Christian Church and a member of the Delphi Masonic Lodge. Surviving with the wife are a son, John of Plymouth; two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Moore of Bowling Green, Mo., and Mrs. Janice Herr of Monticello; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Weaver of Delphi; and four grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
