Stella Richardson (Phillips)

 Stella Richardson Phillips, 85, of Rt. 2, Delphi (Pittsburg) died at 7:45 a.m. Aug. 8, 1990, in Methodist Hospital, where she had been a patient for three weeks.

     Born Nov. 21, 1904, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Samuel and Zorada Morrison Richardson.

     She was a 1923 graduate of Delphi High School and lived in the Delphi area most of her life.

     Her marriage was on Oct. 21, 1931, in Attica, to Clyde Phillips, who died in 1970.

     She and her husband owned and operated a drive-in restaurant in West Delphi for many years.  She also worked at the former Sam's restaurant in Pittsburg for over 50 years and was a licensed real estate salesperson for many years.

      Surviving are two daughters, June Davis of Delphi and Janet Donelson of Lafayette; a brother, Harley Richardson, and a sister, Thelma Franklin, both of Pittsburg.  She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

       Services were Saturday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. James Rankin officiating.  Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
