Bessie Fossnock (Fassnacht) - Class Of 1917

  Bessie Annette Fassnacht, 95, Espanola, N.M., died Sunday, July 31, 1994, in Horizon Health Care, Santa Fe, N.M., where she had been a patient since June 21.
  Born Sept. 22, 1898, in Tippecanoe County, she was the daughter of George and Christine Erickson Fossnock.
  A 1917 graduate of Delphi High School, Miss Fassnacht attained a teaching license from Indiana University, and later graduated from the University of New Mexico.  She taught at the Old Harner School in Madison Township and also at Santa Clara Pueblo School for 40 years, retiring as principal-teacher.
  She grew up in the Pyrmont area, and had lived in New Mexico since 1926.  She served in the Women;s Army Corp in World War II, where she was stationed at Camp Hood, Texas from May 29, 1944, to Nov. 19, 1945.
  A volunteer at Espanola Hospital, Miss Fassnacht was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church in Espanola.
  Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Dale Fossnock of Rt. 4, Delphi.  Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
  Graveside services were held today in Pyrmont Cemetery, with the Rev. Maurice Bonecutter officiating.  Bodine-Brown Funeral Home, Rossville, was in charge of local arrangements.
