Mary Mason (Thomas) - Class Of 1917

Married to Tom Thomas (class of 1921) Mary M. Thomas, 85, West Lafayette, died at 7 a.m. Mon. March 14, 1983, in Home Hospital. She had been hospitalized two weeks. Born in Carroll County, she was graduated from Delphi High School and attended DePauw University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Thetas sorority. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a charter member of Tri Kappa Sorority and a worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star at Delphi. Mrs. Thomas was employed for the County Agent and Farm Bureau in Carroll County for several years. In 1935 she moved to Lafayette as secretary to the Dean of the School of Agriculture at Purdue University. In 1943, she became executive secretary of the Red Cross at Lafayette, serving until 1946 when she married Thomas S. Thomas. D. D. S. He died in 1973. There are no immediate relatives. Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death; The family suggests memorial contributions to Westminster Foundation or a chosen charity.
