Paul Quick - Class Of 1917

Paul Rice Quick, 65, prominent Delphi business and civic leader, died at 8 p.m. Saturday at his home on Riley Road, Delphi, Rt. 4. He had been sick several months with a heart ailment. Born March 3, 1899, in Clinton County, be was the son of Dr. William R. and Mary Etta Rice Quick. His marriage June 21, 1921, was to Helen Day. He was a member of the community all his life. For 32 years he was a partner in the Quick and Clifford Clothing Store; treasurer of the board of First Federal Savings and Loan Association, Delphi, and until recently was president; and was employed as a salesman for Waddell and Reed Investment Co. Mr. Quick was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church; active member of the Gideon Society; former president of Rotary Club; was past master of Mt. Olive Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Indianapolis Scottish Rite. He was a graduate of Purdue University School of Chemical Engineering in 1921 and was alumni adviser to Delta Chi fraternity. He also was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. Surviving with the widow are one son, Richard Charles Quick of Park Ridge, Ill., and three grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at the Cornell Funeral Home in Delphi with the Rev. James William Rankin officiating. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery.
