Thelma Mary Howard, 90, of San Bernardino, Calif., died Aug. 19, 1992. She was born in Monticello on Oct 19,1901. Her marriage was on Dec. 29, 1928, in Chicago, to Wilbur C. Howard, who died in 1978. She graduated from Delphi High School and attended Northwestern University. She traveled extensively and lived several years in Puerto Rico. She wrote numerous poems, many of which were published. She also had a book of poetry published. She was a member of Chaparral Poets. Survivors included a son, two daughters, a sister, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services were in San Bernardino.
