Ethel Hornbeck (Lybrook) - Class Of 1918

Ethel M. Lybrook ,85, Rt. 1, Delphi, died March 23, 1986, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  She had been a patient there three weeks.

  She was born November 16, 1900, in Tippecanoe Township to Oliver and Nettie Brookbank Hornbeck.  She was married June 1, 1929, to Frank Lybrook, in Ottawa, Illinois, and he survives.

  She was a graduate of Delphi High School and attended Madam Blakers Teachers College and Butler University.  She taught school and was a substitute school teacher in Tippecanoe Township for many years.

  Mrs. Lybrook was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church and a member of Tippecanoe Township EH Club.  She was a former member of Tipwa Grange and formerly worked as a volunteer with Tippecanoe Township 4-H Club.

  Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Alyne Atkinson Akers, Delphi, and Joy Lybrook Hammer, Garden Grove, California; one son, Daniel L. Lybrook, Rt. 1, Delphi; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren..  She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

  Services were today at Horn Funeral Home.  Rev. Dr. Ellwood Smith officiated.  Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.  Friends desiring may contribute in memoriam to Carroll County Cancer Association.
