Jessie Murphy Oswald, 86, of Rockfield, formerly of Delphi, died Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 12:37 a.m. in Home Hospital, Lafayette. She had been a patient there since Sunday, but death was unexpected.

Born April 14, 1898 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Fisher Murphy. She was married in 1942 to William Oswald and he died in 1961.

Mrs. Oswald was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church. She was a practical nurse.

Surviving are one step-daughter-in-law, Mary Leitzke, Milwaukee, Wis; two step-grandchildren-in-law; several step-great-grandchildren-in-law (her husband's step children) and two nieces (her sister Joan's daughters), one with whom she made her home, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Jones, Rockfield, IN.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Horn Funeral Home with Rev.Donald Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.
