Ralph Smith, 69, of Monticello passed away Wednesday afternoon of last week in White County Memorial Hospital. He was a former resident of Delphi and was assistant postmaster and worked for the Delphi Post Office for 41 years. Born April 18, 1900, at Atlanta, he was the son of Ira and Esther Stokes Smith. He was married June 18, 1921, to Grace Warfel Daughtery who survives. He was a veteran of World War I. Also surviving are one son, William Ralph Smith of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Fred Bassett of Delphi; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday afternoon at the Miller Funeral Home in Monticello with Rev. Wallace McDonald officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
