Swatts, F. Isabelle--age 82, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 1984 at the Meridian Nursing Home, Dyer, Indiana. Survivors: two nieces, Kathleen Rowe of Phoenix, Arizona, Carolinn Fischetti of Harmony, Maine; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Alice Swatts of Bradenton, Florida. At the request of Miss Swatts, she will be cremated at Oakland Memory Lanes in Dolton, Illinois. There will be no visitation. A memorial will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the (Delphi IOOF) family plot. Huber's Funeral Home, 905 W. Chicago Ave., East Chicago, in charge of all arrangements. Miss Swatts was a graduate of Purdue University; taught in Rockville, Camden and Rising Sun, Indiana before coming to East Chicago; taught English at Roosevelt High School in East Chicago for 38 years; head of the English Department and Drama Club at Roosevelt High School in East Chicago; very active member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, the Purdue Alumni Association and the Chi Omega Sorority; and was a resident of the Calumet Region for 60 years.
