Helen Cripe (Wolfe)

      Helen L. Wolf, 90, of Americus, died at 2:23 p.m. March 12, 1990, when her car struck a tractor-trailer on SR. 25. 

     Born Nov. 24, 1899, in Radnor, she was the daughter of Daniel C. and Ida Steinbaugh Cripe.  Her marriage was on April 23, 1921, to Charles Ray Wolf, who survives.

     Mrs. Wolf resided all of her life in Carroll and Tippecanoe counties.  She graduated from Delphi High School and from North Manchester Normal Teachers College.  She taught school in Carroll County.

     Mrs. Wolf and her husband owned and operated Wolf's Grocery, Service Station, and Wrecker Service in Americus for more than 30 years, retiring in the 1950s.

     She was the oldest living member of the Radnor United Methodist Church and attended Buck Creek United Methodist Church.  She was a 68-member of Buck Creek Chapter 374, Order of Eastern Star.

     Surviving are one son, Charles E. Wolf, of Talbott, Tenn.; a grandson, a step grandson; a great-grandson; and two step great grandchildren. Service will be a 2 p.m. Friday at Buck Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clayton Kendall officiating.   Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, where OES memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.  The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial funds of Buck Creek or Radnor United Methodist churches.
