Clarence Loveland

  The Rev. Clarence H. Loveland, 89, of Paris, Ill., died at 12:35 a.m. Feb. 3, 1990, in Heritage Convalescent Center in Paris.
  He was born Aug. 30, 1900, in White County.  He graduated from Delphi High School.  DePauw University, and Drew University Theological Seminary.  His marriage was on May 18, 1928, in DeKalb, Ill., to Bonnie Bell, who preceded him in death.
  Rev. Loveland was a member of the North Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church and had served parishes in Crawfordsville, Frankfort, Jackson Heights, Rossville, Moran, and Kilmore.
  He was a member of Noon Optimist in Paris, Masonic Lodge of Franklin, and Scottish Rite, Valley of Terre Haute.
  During World War II, he served as a chaplain in the Navy.  He retired from the Naval Reserves as a lieutenant commander.
  Survivors include a son, the Rev. George Loveland of Springfield, Ill.; two daughters, Lois Loveland of Paris and Dr. Jean Loveland of Denton, Texas; and a sister, Florence M. Buskirk of Delphi.
  Services are today in Paris.
