Alberta Schock (Mourer)

Alberta S. Mourer, 90, of Monticello, formerly of Carroll County, died at 3:38 a.m. July 30,1990, in White County Memorial Hospital. She had resided at Tioga Pines Living Center for two months before entering the hospital. She had been in failing health for three years. Born May 7, 1900, in Sleeth (Carroll County), she was the daughter of William J. and Mattie LeSaurd Schock. Her marriage was on Aug. 22, 1923, in Carroll County to Charles L. Mower, 99, who survives. She was a 1919 graduate of Delphi High School and lived on the same Carroll County farm for more than 60 years, She was a member of Adams Township Extension Homemakers Club and the Burnettsville Church of the Brethren. Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Marian M. Fansler of Monticello; one sister, Miriam Hanaway of Aurora, Iowa; two stepsisters, Letha Clawson of Yeoman and Eveth Foust of Texas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One son, one brother and one sister are deceased. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Carroll County with the Rev. Willis Detwiler officiating. Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Burnettsville Church of the Brethren.
