Eva Trobaugh (Davidson)

Eva Trobaugh Davidson, 85, of 420 West Front Street, Delphi, departed this life at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 1986, in her home. Mrs. Davidson was a bookkeeper at the former Pletcher Hardware Store in Delphi from 1919 to 1933. During World War II she worked for the Selective Service Board in Carroll County and later was employed by the Carroll County Welfare Department until 1952. Since then she has been active at the Indiana Veterans Home in West layette where she was responsible for the monthy birthday parties for residents. She had a life membership of Indiana State Veterans Home committee for department auxiliary. Born November 27, 1900, in Delphi, she was a 1919 graduate of Delphi High School and attended Eastern New Mexico University In Clovis. Her marriage was April 15, 1930, in Mitchell, to Robert Davidson, who departed this life August 11, 1965. Mrs. Davidson has been a member of the Delphi Christian Church since 1913. She also was a past  president of the American Legion Auxillary of Delphi where she held the only life membership ever awarded by the local unit; past department chapter president of the 40&8; past president of the original Delphi Women’s club; Rose Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Delphi where she was secretary for 23 years. She also was adviser at Indiana Girl's State for several years. In 1982, Governor Robert Orr awarded Mrs. Davidson a “Sagamore of the Wabash.” Services were held Friday, July 11, in Delphi, the Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Run Cemetery. There are no immediate survivors.
