Edward Coomey, 86, of Fort Wayne, died unexpectedly Thursday evening in Phoenix, Arizona, where he and his wife arrived Wednesday to spend the winter. He was paying rent for an apartment at the desk when he passed away. Born Dec. 30, 1901, in Delphi, he was the son of James H. and Hannah Kelly Coomey. He move He move to Fort Wayne about 30 years ago where he worked for General Electric Corp. until retiring in 1967. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Delphi. Surviving with the widow, the former Hazel Ward, are a brother, Henry Coomey of Delphi; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Wm. (Alice) Coomey, and two nephews, Joe and Arthur Coomey, all of Delphi. Funeral services were Tuesday morning in Fort Wayne and burial was in Huntington Cemetery.
