Dorothy Snyder (Vail) - Class Of 1913

Dorthea Snyder Vail of Long Beach, Calif., passed away Sept. 26 at Community Hospital, Long Beach, after a six months illness.
  Born June 20, 1895, in Clay Township, Carroll County, she was the daughter of Carey O. and Theodosia Swaim Snyder.  Her early life was spent in Carroll County.  She was graduated from Delphi High School in 1913,  She taught school two years in Deer Creek Township and five years at Rockfield School.  In 1920 she went to Washington, D.C. and worked in government offices.  She later taught in A.A. Hospitals and then went to California where she taught school several years.
  Her marriage to Forrest R. Vail June 20, 1926, was in Long Beach where they continued to live.  She was a member of the First Christian Church there, the E-Bell Club and retired teachers association.
  Survivors with the husband are a sister, Mrs. Fay Coble of Rt. 2, Delphi; a brother Earl Snyder of Burnettsville; four nieces and three nephews.
  Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
  Funeral services were Friday at the First Christian Church in Long Beach, Calif.
