Lake Rariden - Class Of 1914

 

Lake E. Rariden, 42, prominent attorney of Ft. Wayne and a well known alumnus of the Delphi School, died Saturday in Ft. Wayne of heart trouble.  Rariden was a speaker at the Delphi High School alumni association banquet in Delphi in December, 1936, and with his wife visited Delphi friends at that time.  Funeral services were held Monday at the Scottish Rite cathedral, Ft. Wayne.  He had degrees from the University of Michigan and Harvard University.  Rariden was a member of the Masonic lodge of Delphi.  He practiced law in Ft. Wayne thirteen years and was active in Democratic politics.
  Surviving are the widow, Nedalyn; a daughter, Patrice, at home; the father, James Rariden, of Hicksville, O., and two brothers, Wilford, of Hicksville, and Dr. Lawrence Rariden, of Greenfield.
  Mr. Rariden enlisted in the Marines Corps at Paris Island, S.C., December 13, 1917, and served in France from March 27, 1918, to March 11, 1919.  He saw action in the St. Mihiel and Champaign battle sectors and was wounded October 6, 1918.  He was discharged June 21, 1919.
