Robert Bowman - Class Of 1915

  Robert S. Bowman, 83, a resident of The Brethren's Home at Flora since April of 1977, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1980, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where he was admitted earlier the same day.  He had been ill one week.
  Born Oct. 31, 1897, in Rockfield, his parents were Warner and Marie Kerlin Bowman.  He married Lois Coble in January 1918 and she survives.
  He had been a partner in the Todd-Bowman car dealership in Delphi from 1967 to 1975 and was a retired farmer.  His memberships included the Delphi Presbyterian Church, IOOF Lodge No. 301 in Rockfield, Mount Olive Masonic Lodge No. 48 in Delphi and Murat Shrine and Scottish Rite in Indianapolis.
  Surviving with the wife are one son, Donald H. Bowman, Lafayette, one daughter, Mrs. Clint (Frances) Sowards, Hot Springs, Ark., one brother, William Bowman, and one sister, Margaret Bowman, both of Orlando, Fla., nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services are today a 2 p.m. in Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi, with Rev. Ellis Gasser and Rev. James Rankin officiating.  Burial will be Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
