Grace Boone (Julien) - Class Of 1916

Grace M. Julien, 87, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday, September 26, 1983, at the Indiana State Veterans Home, West Lafayette, where she had been a resident since 1975.
  She was born August 23, 1896, the daughter of David W. and Margaret Caldwell Boone.  Her marriage on June 27, 1936, in Pittsburg was to Hugh L. Julien and he preceded her in death in 1950.
  Mrs. Julien had worked at Marshall Fields in Chicago prior to serving as secretary at the Y.W.C.A. in Indianapolis during the 1930s.  After her marriage she and her husband owned and operated a filling station and restaurant near Colfax until his death.  She then moved to Lafayette to live with her father until his death in 1959.  During this time she did babysitting in the Lafayette area.
  She was a charter member of Bethany Presbyterian and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the V.F.W.  She was a 1916 graduate of Delphi High School and a graduate of the Lafayette Business College.
  Survivors include one brother, Bartley Boone of Kokomo; two sisters, Mrs. Walter "Buck" (Blanche) Kite of Rt. 3, Lafayette, and Mrs. Floyd (Esther) Johns of Rt. 1, Delphi; and 14 nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
  Services were this morning (Wednesday) at Horn-Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. James Rankin officiating.  Burial was in Pleasant Run Cemetery.
