Naomi Pruitt (Theophile) - Class Of 1916

  Naomi A. Theophile, 90, of Delphi died at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 11, 1987 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center.
  Born Jan. 8, 1897 in Delphi, she was the daughter of Edward E. and Leticia Brown Pruitt.  Her marriage was June 2, 1934 in Delphi to Herman A. Theophile, who died Feb. 25, 1986.
  She graduated from Delphi High school in 1916, from DePauw School of Music in 1918, and from Cornell School of Music in New York.
  A retired music and art teacher, she had taught at Forest, Michigantown, Ladoga, Remington, Flora, Pittsburg, Delphi, New Hope, Burlington and Morocco.
  She was a member of the Delphi Christian Church, where she had served as organist and Sunday School teacher for nearly 50 years.
  She was past president of Gamma Alpha Chapter of Tri Kappa sorority; past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Delphi, and a member of Rose Chapter (now Carroll Chapter).  Order of Eastern Star and Indiana State Retired Teachers Association.
  Surviving is one sister, Jean P. Ferrier of Delphi.
  Services were Saturday at the Delphi Christian Church with Pastor Paul Davis officiating.  Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery.  Horn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
  Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphi Christian Church.
