Final rites for Bess M. Carey, 90, a former Delphi resident, were Monday at Jackson Funeral Home. The Rev Ray Nelson officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery at Monticello She died Friday at Hoosier Village Nursing Home in Zionsville. Born May 18, 1885, in Indiana, she was the daughter of O.P. and Ella Brownelle Wilson She married Lawrence Daniel Carey, who died in 1931. From 1933 until 1965 she was court reporter for the Tippecanoe County Circuit Court. She was a member of the Delphi Christian Church. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Delphi and was past grand worthy matron of the state organization and was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Lafayette, Altrusa Club of Lafayette, Delphi American Legion Auxiliary and Delta Theta Tau sorority. Surviving are a son, Joe W. of West Lafayette; two grandchildren and one step grandchild.
