James Bennett - Class Of 1906

Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Fountain, Sr., of Tippecanoe township have received word of the death of their cousin, Dr. James G. Bennett, in Vashon Island, Washington. According to the report received here Dr. Bennett was changing license plates on a truck which had been parked on an incline near his home. The brakes did not hold and in attempting to stop the truck he was crushed. Dr. Bennett was the son of Nane and Lizzie Bennett and was graduated from the Delphi high school, class of 1906. He graduated from the, Purdue School of Pharmacy and then went to Lisbon, North Dakota, where he was a pharmacist for a number of years. Later he returned to Indianapolis and graduated from the I. U. Dental School. The Bennett family lived in and around Pittsburg for many years. Following his graduation from the dental school, he went to Vashon Island where for 25 years he had practiced dentistry. The widow, the former Cora Fieldstadt of North Dakota, is the only immediate survivor. Funeral rites and burial were in Washington.
