Word was received here by relatives of the death of Mrs. Effie Newell McNeel, 54, who died in Santa Barbara, California on Friday following an illness of four weeks. Her death occurred in a hospital there. Mrs. McNeel was the sister of Earl Newell and Mrs. May Scott of Delphi, both of whom survive. Also surviving is the mother, Mrs. Ida Baum Newell, a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Goodwin and the husband Albert McNeel. Born in Carroll county, Mrs. McNeel was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services and burial were held in California.
