Gertrude Wolever (Welker) - Class Of 1906

Services were held Monday afternoon from the Eikenberry funeral home in Delphi for Mrs. Calista Gertrude “Dolly” Welker, 79, who died at the family home on North Wilson Street, Delphi, Friday night. Rev. Milton Mikesell officiated and burial was in the IOOF cemetery. Mrs. Welker died following a lingering illness. She had been seriously ill two weeks. Born in Delphi Sept. 7, 1883, she was the daughter of Andrew and Mary Alice Tutiwaler Wolever. Her father, a well known Delphi photographer was also a former mayor of Delphi. She was a member of the Delphi Methodist church. Her marriage in 1907 was to Stewart Welker. Surviving are the husband: six daughters, Emma Hayden of Lafayette; Kathryn Stoner of Delphi; Ruth Homan of Dakota, Illinois; Marybelle Wright of Monticello, Jane Darr of Boxholm, Iowa, and Esther Welker at home; three sons, Louis of Monticello, Robert and Donald of Delphi; a sister, Florence Dawson of Detroit and a foster sister, Nan Bordner of Dakota.
