Cora Dobbins (Menaugh) - Class Of 1907

Cora Dobbins (Menaugh)

Mrs. Paul Menaugh died Saturday about midnight at St. Elizabeth's hospital, Lafayette, death following an operation for abdominal adhesions. Mrs. Menaugh underwent a very serious operation there about six months ago and friends had supposed she was convalescing satisfactorily. Her death came as a shock to the entire community. Mrs. Menaugh was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Dobbins, who live south of town. She was born at Wolcott thirty-three years ago last January, and was married seven years ago to Paul Menaugh, who with the parents, a sister, Mrs. Grover Kite, and a brother, Walter Dobbins, two nieces and a nephew survive. Mrs. Menaugh was a member of the Rebekah lodge for eleven years and held the highest office of the gift of the order. She was worthy matron of the order of the Eastern Star in this city for two years and was very popular among all who knew her. Those she loved most were of the home circle. It has been said by observing neighbors that seldom do you see such loyal, true love and devotion in a family as was hers for father, mother, brother, sister and husband. No task too hard, never too tired to administer to any want. It has been the custom in all these eight years to spend one day of each week in the parental home, always retaining her place at the table between father and mother. Untiring were her efforts in the neighborhood in case of sickness or death; she was always there to do what she could. She was a graduate of the Delphi High School class of 1907. Funeral services were held from her late home Tuesday afternoon, Rev. E. P. Day officiating. Mrs. Menaugh knew that her condition was serious and on the evening of her death she arranged for the funeral services.
